Can You Hear Him, Now? Part 2-final

How do know when God is speaking and what His ‘voice’ sounds like?

Acknowledge God’s Presence – Pay attention to what He has to say (look for the love notes)

Years ago, Kenneth & Gloria Copeland used to talk about ‘practicing the presence of God.’ They are basically talking about making a habit out of living as if God was literally, physically with us every moment of the day: acknowledging His presence in the unimportant, mundane, everyday things in life and nature and in our relationships with one another. We have all heard that God is All Knowing, All Powerful and Ever Present. Do we live as if we believe that to be true?

Psalm 139:7-12 (NKJV)Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, you are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me, and Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me, even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, but the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.”

Yes. God is always there; always with us; always trying to get our attention. Even when we think no one is listening and no one is watching. He knows everything from the secrets of our hearts to the thoughts in our heads. And you know what?  He loves us just the same.

How often have you felt the sun beaming down warm and bright upon you, or a breeze kiss your cheek or blow through your hair like a loving hand? Exhale deeply. Blow all the air out and take it back in. Isn’t it sweet of Him to always provide air for us to breathe?  We take so much for granted. Often, we don’t even realize that these are merciful, gracious gifts from one who calls us His Beloved?

Have you seen a sunrise or sunsets lately? How irritated have you become at the rain or snow that fall from the sky, making everything clean and new? Did it ever occur to you, the moment that you take to acknowledge the handiworks of God could be the exact same moment that He’s trying to tell you, “I love you?”  It could be in that very moment He whispers the solution to the problem you’ve been facing; or the idea that will bring you provision; or the correction that will bring you to repentance and help you to live a better life.

Revelation 3:20 (NKJV) Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  Being in God’s presence and hearing His voice is not a religious experience. This speaks of relationship; of friendship; of covenant…not Religion. I don’t know too many people who would willingly share a meal with someone they did not at least WANT to get to know.

Now that you know how to communicate with God, you’re going to want others to have the same AWESOME experience!

So, how do we help others experience God’s presence?

Become God’s presence – Give what you’ve received

Jeremiah 31:3(NKJV)The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying,“ Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

Matthew 7:12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Philippians 4:8-9  Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

Think about every person who has held your hand, hugged you, affirmed and validated you, prayed or provided for you, corrected or encouraged in the exact moment that you needed it the most. Did it occur to you that it was God reaching out to you with the human hands at His disposal? That was a part of the loving-kindness that He accessed to bring you closer.  Being in His presence consistently, we get a real understanding of His heart for the people around us. This makes us more aware of the needs of others and makes us more willing to provide for other from what God has given to us.  This is your opportunity to show others how much God loves them.

God wrapped Himself in human flesh to take the blame and the punishment for every sin-filled thing done on the earth, just so we could know how much He loves us and wants to be with us. And yet, he still spends every moment of every day just trying to say, “I love you. I want you. You’re so precious to me…let me show you” After the ultimate gift, God never stops giving to us just to be with us.

Now, who wouldn’t want to know a God like that? Take some time to talk to God, hear His voice and become His voice in the earth TODAY.
